The Full Lumen

Notcutts Xmas display this time on film (Fujicolor Superia 1600) and using a Contax G2 with a Zeiss Planar 35mm f2. The previous set of photos were taken on a Panasonic Lumix G1 with a 14-45mm f3.5-5.6 M-OIS. Can you see the difference? In the originals I most certainly can see that the film photos are more true to life than the digital images - though I am not sure this is so obvious on when posted to this site though. Mind you I still like the images off the Lumix G1 digital - it’s a really capable camera with a decent standard zoom lens. I think the real difference between film and digital are in the colours (film does reds and violets much better than digital), the difference in depth of field between the 35mm at f2 (relatively shallow) and the zoom at 14mm at f3.5 (tremendous back to font DOF) and the much wider latitude of the film (13-14 stops) versus the digital (8-9).
