This weekend we are off the MHR Spring Steam Gala to experience and to photograph a bevy of six steam locomotives, running to an intensive timetable. The gala runs from 5th to 7th March 2010. Click here to see the Watercress Line web site

The stars of the show will be Bittern, Tornado, Lord Nelson, Wadebridge, 92212 (9F Class) and 30075 (Class 62 USA Type Tank). The event will include the usual passenger services, with named train specials, double heading and demonstration freight.

I will be taking my two Contax G2 cameras plus their set of six Zeiss prime lenses, together with a goodly amount of Fujicolor 400 and 800 ASA colour negative film. The lenses most likely to be used will be the 21mm, 35mm and 90mm, with occasional use of the 28mm and 45mm. The 16mm Hologon is going too, on another test drive, this time to do some sweeping station panoramas.
