Lunch at the Leather Bottle circa 1744

The Leather Bottle of circa 1744 is now in its most recent incarnation as a modern gastro pub in a traditional setting. “It has been carefully restored bringing a perfectly balanced combination of the old and the new providing a fabulous country pub and informal dining experience” according to the marketing blurb. I have to admit I agree with them, the old and the new sit harmoniously together preserving the genius loci of the old place and giving it a new relevance.

Photographs taken on a Contax G2 with Zeiss Planar 35mm f2 on Fujicolor Superia 1600.

Oh and lunch was absolutely delicious too:

Cajun Mushrooms to start

Oriental Stir Fry to follow

Vanilla Pod Ice Cream  for pudding

all washed down with a glass of Chilean Cabinet Sauvignon.

Photography can be a hard life at times!
