A new focus

Recently the Full Lumen website has undergone a transformation to reflect the mood of its authors and the fact the old site had lost its way. Intended to be a site about photography it was in danger of heading in a direction we swore we would never go, i.e. a site about equipment in general and four thirds standard equipment specifically.

Equally the site lacked photographic focus, reflecting the loss of direction of its authors. We were looking at the Autumn pictures posted this year to discover that all they were, was a similar set of images as last year, and the year before etc. but taken on the latest technology. It was all becoming boring and more about technology than photography as a consequence.

What was needed was a new focus and, after much debate, we agreed that this focus should be bygones. We have always been interested in our heritage and documenting the survivors of past times is something of a challenge and a big one too with a scope wide enough to satisfy our needs for photographic creativity.

To quote Machiavelli “Whoever wishes to foresee the future must consult the past; for human events ever resemble those of preceding times. This arises from the fact that they are produced by men who ever have been, and ever shall be, animated by the same passions, and thus they necessarily have the same results”.

So, over the next few weeks, months and years you will be able to visit the new site and watch as this record we shall be making of bygones grows and develops. We hope you will enjoy exploring it as much as we, the authors, will do in creating it.
